We Get Letters! |

.Our Thursday
morning visit to the veterinarian went very well. Dr. Jack did himself proud when I took him by Baker College Library, where Shannie works. He bounded happily up to Shannie then greeted each of Shannie's several co-workers in turn with wagging tail and wet nose. Jack is eating everything
we put in front of him, and we have found a Most of all, Jack is a happy, affectionate addition to our family and is a pleasure to find waiting at the door when we get home from work.
This is Shannie, the Chow owner! Jack is such an A-I-R-E-D-A-L-E!!! We think he is a great dog, and he is a wonderful companion when my husband is working nights. You can't count on a Chow for sympathy, or company, but Jack is always there. He is a truely valued member of our family (but don't tell Ping or the cats that!). One funny
thing my husband didn't mention: our family has the "circle of rule".
The Chow is afraid of the cats (they indoctrinated her as a puppy), the
cats are afraid of Jack, and Jack is as wary as any Airedale can be about
Ping! It can be reversed: Jack is not afraid of the cats, the cats are
not afraid of Ping, and Ping is not afraid of Jack! Anyhow, this funny
dynamic does not play out with our outdoor "barn" cats. We have
two black cats who live in our garage on cheap kibble and heating pads.
One of them, Boo-Boo, has a thing for Jack! She will come up to him outdoors,
rub up against his legs, and eventually groom him. You have never seen
such an uncomfortable-looking Airedale as poor Jack! He never knows what
to do about it!
